# DOJ Announces FOIA Exemption Training
The U.S. Department of Justice will conduct a virtual training session on FOIA Exemptions 4 and 5 on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. EST. The two-hour, fifteen-minute training will provide instruction on these specific Freedom of Information Act exemptions, which allow federal agencies to withhold certain categories of information from public disclosure requests.
Exemption 4 protects confidential business information, while Exemption 5 covers attorney-client privileged communications and work product. The DOJ designed this training to help government personnel understand when and how to properly apply these exemptions during FOIA processing.
Interested participants can register for the virtual event through the DOJ's training portal. The training represents part of the department's ongoing efforts to ensure consistent and accurate application of FOIA exemptions across federal agencies.
Court-approved GPS, SCRAM, house arrest, and breathalyzer monitoring across Washington State.
