# U.S. Attorney Clayton Addresses Law Enforcement Foundation
U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton spoke at the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation's annual luncheon in New York on Friday, December 5, 2025. Clayton praised law enforcement officials honored at the event and emphasized the Southern District's commitment to partnering with local and federal agencies in combating crime throughout the region.
Clayton outlined three priorities for his office: strengthening bonds between law enforcement and communities, focusing on measurable results in reducing crime, and maintaining the Southern District's tradition of excellence. He highlighted ongoing efforts to remove gun-wielding criminals from streets and dismantle drug and gang operations across the city. Clayton pledged that his office would work around the clock to support law enforcement's mission.
Clayton concluded by acknowledging past leadership, specifically referencing former U.S. Attorney Bob Fiske, who served from 1976 to 1980. Clayton noted that New York is significantly safer today than 50 years ago and attributed much of that progress to foundational work by previous leaders who established the district's tradition of effort and results.
