# Two Yakima County Men Sentenced in Child Exploitation Cases
Frederick Thomson and Lucas Noe Martinez were sentenced to lengthy prison terms following convictions on two counts of attempted child rape. Thomson received a sentence of 48 months to life on April 2, 2026, while Martinez was sentenced to 90 months to life on March 25, 2026. Both men will be required to register as sex offenders for life.
The convictions resulted from a November 2019 undercover operation called "Net Nanny" conducted by the Washington State Patrol Missing and Exploited Children Task Force in coordination with state, local, and federal law enforcement. During the operation, detectives posed as minors or as individuals offering minors for sexual exploitation. Thomson and Martinez each responded to Craigslist advertisements posted by a detective posing as a mother offering her 11- and 13-year-old daughters for sex. Both men arranged meetings and confirmed their intentions to commit child rape before being arrested at the arranged locations.
The Attorney General's Office, led by AG Nick Brown, successfully prosecuted the cases after being referred by Yakima County Prosecutor Joe Brusic. The "Net Nanny" operation resulted in 16 arrests total, with the Attorney General's Office securing eight convictions and one case pending trial.
